Saturday at Dennis Pines starts 8:30. Sunday at Bayberry Hills starts 8:20.
Individual tee times will be posted here as soon as they are set. Until then, plan to be at the course early.
Two weeks out — schedule, format, and payments
Hello golfers!
Can't believe we are a few weeks away from Keenan Open, summer absolutely flew by! We are a few days from NFL kick-off and not too far from the first snow! (Most of you hate that I know). Payments are coming in, thanks! I know some are paying cash, no problem, it is still king!

High level schedule:
Friday Pro-Am at Brookside starting at 12PM. Tom set up a Squabbit for this (28 players).
Friday night settle in, usually some food options at my brother's house in Yarmouth Port.
Saturday — Dennis Pines starting at 8:30. Tee times will be shared in advance to let everyone prepare.
Saturday night — burritos and pizza at Glen's house in Dennis.
Sunday — Bayberry Hills starting at 8:20. Tee times will be shared in advance.
Sunday — John's for trophy presentation and football.
Format is 4-team Ryder Cup style, 2-man best ball on Saturday and singles matches on Sunday. There will be payouts for the winning team, closest to the pin on every par 3, and of course the big prize for overall net winner for the weekend (plus at least top 5 payout).
Gifts will be handed out on Friday night / Saturday.

Note from Sept 7: this count is outdated. Friday Pro-Am is 28 players at Brookside, noon.
Quick reminder to keep those payments coming in… The Curtis Mead era was awesome! Oh well, let's see if Bresbot can pull something else off.
Update on the Pro-Am: 24 elite athletes will be competing this year at the prestigious Brookside Golf Club, starting at noon on Friday the 18th of September. I have full confidence Tommy will pull together a $10 or $20 Squabbit Stableford with some side junk. All 24 spots have been claimed.
Hate rushing summer, but it's coming up fast. Get those GHINs!

$375 entry fee — time to Venmo
Hello fellow golfers, first Early for Mead??? Seems like a hefty price, need to process this. A quick update on this year's Keenan Open and my first request to get money! Reminder: the weekend of September 19–20 at Bayberry Hills and Dennis Pines. Cost will be $375, you can Venmo me. As usual, cost includes Saturday and Sunday golf (Friday Pro-Am is not included), prize money, and the Saturday dinner spread.
The Keenan Open is modernizing thanks to John Jr. We have a website, keenanopen.com — still a work in progress, but all the information will be there, as well as past winners. I'll send out an email (the traditional way) as well soon with all the details.
One final note: as we modernize with a website, in 2026 there should be no reason not to have an official GHIN. There's time to get one now and start adding scores. If you don't have one, you're subject to the competition committee's decision on your handicap for the weekend, and it will be erring on the side of low. All complaints on this matter can be forwarded to Tom Keenan.

Save the date — September 18–20
Hello fellow golfers,
It's that time of year to lock in the date for the Keenan Open! Hopefully everyone is shaking the rust off their game despite the delay in warming temperatures. I know Tom is working hard to inflate his handicap to ensure a successful weekend! So many sports storylines this year, and most of them not good — pretty sad the Sox couldn't make it to May before dashing our hopes for a good season. Bruins on life support, and the Celtics refusing to go for 2pts when they brick 3s is costing them chances to close out the 76ers. But at least Rory went back-to-back! I'm predicting another major this year! And get those bets in for the Derby!
This year's Open will be held during the weekend of September 18–20. Captains was booked, so it's back to old school — 12 tee times in a row. More details as usual to follow, like costs, gifts, and the Pro-Am, but high level below:
Friday — Pro-Am (TBD), but got a hankering to play Pinehills.
Saturday — Dennis Pines
Sunday — Bayberry Hills
What I need is confirmation of who's in. My esteemed co-planner, tech guy, coach, and defending champion will send out a reply with the link to indicate in or out. We have a list of players who may have played the last few years for the first time — they're alternates, since we have regulars and family who are returning or joining (family comes first), and only 48 spots. So please don't invite someone without clearing it with me. If you feel I missed someone, let me know — I'm prone to being a tad forgetful… Thanks!
Remember: spend $40 and get a handicap, or you're at the mercy of the Handicap Committee (Tom is a tough grader!). Worst case, use an app like Grint or Swing U (still subject to Committee review).
